Vacation Bible School 2018

Vacation Bible School 2018 was a great success! We had 18 young students participating and 10 youth/adults helping out as volunteers, that helped make the week go by fast, and very smooth.

Our theme this year was Happy Saints & Beatitudes; each day we learned about a Saint, a Beatitude, and a Bible story. We had tons of fun playing games, making crafts, eating delicious snacks, and enjoying the week. Saint Bingo and ice cream sundaes for snack were the group favorite. Each day we had a guessing jar, with items that remind us of the Saint of the day, and the winner got to take the jar home. The youth loved this, and it was a great way to remember the Saint; ex, St. Dominic Savio was just a young kid when he became a Saint, so our jar was filled with Sourpatch Kids candy to help us remember he was the kid Saint.

We spent time learning about the Saints and a Beatitude that ties well to their life:

  • St. Therese of Lisieux – Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • St. Dominic Savio – Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
  • St. Elizabeth of Portugal – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
  • St. Faustina – Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Overall it was a fun-filled week that went by fast! Below are a few pictures recapping our week. Thank you to all who helped out, participated, or donated items towards VBS 2018!
